- The power of www is amazing. Many old tapes have return to Malaysia to make their way to DV-Studio because some love ones saw our webpage overseas and sent back their old tapes for conversion. We value that trust and hope more will spread the word. - Same Music From A Different Era
- We ask a customer why they want to convert nursery rhymes from Vinyl Records when better ones can be bought on CDs. She says the great grandfather-grandfather-father-son grow up on them..and all are successful in life and must be converted to preserve this full proof tradition. - A WWII Story- A Imperial Japan Officer befriended a local pastor during the war and became good friends. The pastor receive cassettes from the Japanese Officer which were all in Japanese. DV-Studio restore and convert the cassettes for a language teacher to do translation-30 years after. Am sure an inspiring tale will emerge to tell the world that there is restoration after every conflict. "A Small Price for Priceless Memories."
- Not All Are Convince- We advise those who are holding many tapes to 'Let Go' and convert the Urgent+Important tapes first. It is better to hold on to something you can see. If you cannot 'Let Go' invest in some basic equipments to DIY. Then you will know success or failure - Just do something.
- A Christmas Carol Story- Twenty years ago a pastor from Perak compose a couple of Christmas carols in Tamil and recorded his family singing them in cassette format. This Christmas they found our place to digitized the carols and will be sending them to a radio station in the US to share it with the listeners there. We hope they can share it with the World, God's Greatest Gift.
- Some Do Belief- Occasionally we get cassettes containing the life of people who belief in fortune tellers. One convincing one is that this lady went to a fortune teller and he told her there is no need for her to see her fortune. A couple of days later she died. Obviously the family members who were with her swear by this fortune teller after that.
Some of theses fortune tellers record their fortune telling on cassettes. - Music Never Dies- A young lady seeks high and low for an album in cassette format before discovering our converting service. She sends her father back to the shop she originally bought it in the Philippines with the hope of buying another copy. Truly, music never dies.
- One Minute Video- Many customers cannot comprehend why they have to pay the same price for very short clips of their bungee Jump, tandem parachuting, scuba Diving etc. But it is the memories we are counting not the length. One time a lady came to convert her tandem jump tape and this was feature in the advert for a milk company. She came back to thank us because she not only got paid for appearing but become popular too.
- A Touch of Nostalgia- We are always excited when we get 8 mm reel film conversion. This is when we have to fire up our 8 mm projector to screen videos that are a bygone era that never fail to bring out emotions from the client. Clarion call to multimedia students who want to arrange field trips to our studio; last chance to view this museum piece in action before curtain fall when it breaks down!
- 1/2 a Wedding- A customer seek us for a second opinion when he convert his VHS using a 3rd party. He was told they are able to convert only 1/2 his tape and the other half cannot be converted at all. By coming to us he manage to see the full wedding and we hope he demands his money back from the bogus 3rd party that he goes too.
- Tale of 2 Frenchmen- a portion of our conversion business comes from Westerners. Strangely 2 separate french men found 8 mm reels in their attics which they bring for us to convert to digital formats. They were priceless Memories of their parents but while 1 think we are God sent another is a whiner. Ah well, you win some you lose some but we know one will have a wonderful & meaningful Christmas.
- Case of Screwed Tape- Due to age most tapes are returning with need for cleaning and restoring work. Most problematic ones are those that is 'fixed' by other convertors, but unable to solve the problem. Picking up the pieces is frustrating to us because problem solving becomes more difficult as we do not know what the other party have done eg. turning the tapes up-side-down in one particular case.
